At Caregiver Training Institute, we’re always thrilled to be able to spotlight our graduates and share their stories. Eyerusalem Gurmu is a graduate of our Nursing Assistant program and proves that you can make anything happen if you’re committed and give it your all.
Eyerus found the number for CTI online while she was looking for a program to further her career as a caregiver, which she’s been doing since she moved here from Ethiopia.
“I knew that I wanted to enter into the healthcare field. I love this work. So I just want to improve my skill. I was able to successfully implement all of the skills that I learned in the classroom” she said.
As a new mom she was nervous about the commitment but she says she’s happy she made the sacrifice. She felt extremely encouraged by the staff and faculty at CTI and that made all the difference.
“I am so amazed by the whole team, they’re so positive,” she said. “I am beyond blessed by their kindness. They encouraged me, and my teacher is the best. She’s so lovely and dedicated.”
During her program, she applied herself and spent all of her free time studying. She said it was a difficult period for her, dropping her son off early in the morning and going to class then work and finally studying at night. She said even though it was such a hard time for her, she felt supported by everyone at CTI.
“You have to believe in yourself and do it from your heart. The experience I’ve had as a Certified Nursing Assistant student has encouraged me to continue my education as CMA,” she said. “I just want to say, thank you for everything.”
